About Corbett Jungle Weekend
Jim Corbett National Park, established in 1936, is India's oldest and most prestigious wildlife sanctuary. Spread across 520 square kilometres of dense sal forests, river valleys, and grasslands in the Kumaon foothills, it is home to over 200 Bengal tigers, herds of wild elephants, leopards, and more than 600 species of birds.
The jeep safari through the legendary Dhikala and Bijrani zones is the centrepiece of this weekend. As your open-top Gypsy navigates the rugged forest tracks, keep your binoculars ready for tiger pugmarks in the soft earth, deer herds grazing by the Ramganga River, and the flash of a kingfisher diving into still waters. The afternoon is perfect for a quieter bird-watching walk along the park periphery.
Evenings at the jungle resort are magical — the distant call of a barking deer, the rustle of langurs in the canopy overhead, and a sumptuous dinner featuring Kumaoni cuisine. Corbett offers an unrivalled combination of raw wilderness and comfortable hospitality, making it the ideal wildlife weekend from Delhi.
