Overview
Kedarkantha is widely regarded as India's best winter trek, offering a perfect blend of snow-laden trails, pristine pine forests, and a thrilling summit climb to 3,810 metres. Located in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttarkashi district, this trek rewards climbers with one of the most spectacular 360-degree Himalayan panoramas in Uttarakhand.
The trail begins from the charming village of Sankri and winds through dense forests of oak, pine and rhododendron, opening up to vast snow-covered meadows as you gain altitude. Camping in the snow under a canopy of stars is an experience that stays with you forever. The summit day is the crowning glory — an early morning push through deep snow leading to views of Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, and Ranglana peaks.
Suitable for beginners with basic fitness, Kedarkantha is the ideal introduction to Himalayan winter trekking. Our experienced trek leaders ensure safety at every step, from proper acclimatisation to expert navigation through snow-covered terrain.
